The concert "Cuba - Canta y Baila" will be comprised of songs, choruses, dances and ensembles from the greatest zarzuelas and musical numbers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. This will include the music of Cuban composers: Eliseo Grenet, Moises Simons, Gonzalo Roig.

Tenor Mariano Vidal, and soprano Gina Sikora will be accompanied by Marina Gorelaya at the piano. Hiram Jimenez and Jonathan Kline and their troupe, will provide the percussion. Dances will be performed by La Joven Guardia del teatro y la danza Latina, SAL (The Latino Theater Dance Youth Troupe) from Syracuse, directed and choreographed by José Miguel Angel Hernández.

There will also be a pre-concert presentation/discussion for high school students on Friday January 8th at 11am.

This concert is made possible by a NYSCA Decentralization Grant, administered by the Cultural Resources Council of Onondaga County.
